동묘시장 근처에서 배고플 때 딱 좋은 곳을 발견했어요.

청계천 쪽 골목에 있는 튀김 전문집인데

이름 그대로 ‘고기튀김’이 시그니처 메뉴!

줄이 좀 있었지만 5분 정도만 기다리면 금방 들어갈 수 있어요.

이미 티비에도 나와 사람들에게 이미 유명한 맛집이에요

If you ever find yourself wandering around Dongmyo Market in Seoul, there's a little street food spot near Cheonggyecheon that’s totally worth checking out. It’s known for one thing: deep-fried meat, or “gogi twigim” — and trust me, it hits the spot.

가족분들이 운영하시는 듯한 정겨운 느낌이었어요.

메뉴는 고기튀김, 오징어튀김, 고추튀김, 멸치국수, 비빔국수 등인데 전부 다 1인분에 5,000원! 요즘 물가 생각하면 진짜 혜자죠. 막걸리도 잔술로 주문할 수 있어서 살짝 곁들이기 딱 좋아요.

The place was pretty busy when I went, but I only had to wait about 5 minutes. The menu is simple and super budget-friendly — everything’s just 5,000 KRW (about $3.50)!
You can choose from gogi twigim (deep-fried meat), squid twigim, chili pepper twigim, and classic Korean noodle dishes like myeolchi guksu (anchovy noodle soup) and bibim guksu (spicy mixed noodles). They even serve makgeolli (Korean rice wine) by the glass, which is rare and super chill.

여치니가 정말 극찬에 극찬을 했던 비빔국수는 양념이 매콤새콤해서 아주 맛있었는데...

양이 주먹만 해서 살짝 아쉬웠어요.

The bibim guksu had a tangy, spicy kick that I loved, but the portion was pretty small — about the size of a fist.
But my girlfriend loved it.

1인분에 고기튀김 두개에요~

 

I ordered the gogi twigim, chili pepper twigim, and bibim guksu. The deep-fried meat wasn’t crispy like tempura — instead, the batter was chewy and satisfying, almost mochi-like, and filled with a savory mix of meat, green onion, garlic, salt, and pepper.

고기튀김은 고기, 파, 마늘, 소금, 후추로 간단하게 속을 채워서 튀겼는데, 바삭하다기보단 쫀득쫀득한 튀김옷이 특징이에요. 식감이 묘하게 중독성 있어서 자꾸 손이 가더라고요.

고추튀김은 느끼함 잡아주는 역할 톡톡히 했고요.

비빔국수와 함께 먹으면 진짜 예술이에요~

 

The chili pepper twigim added a nice spicy balance and cut through the heaviness. 

잘먹었습니다~

시장 구경하다가 허기질 때 들르면 딱일 것 같아요.

부담 없는 가격에 간단히 한 잔 곁들이기도 좋고요.
